Bluejay Water Co.

Dual Tank, City Water

48,000 grain softener + separate carbon tank

A dedicated softening tank and a separate self-cleaning carbon tank. Splitting the jobs means more capacity and longer media life for homes that use a lot of water.

Best for: Large homes on city water with high use.

Bluejay Dual Tank City Water softener and filter system with brine tank

What it fixes

  • Hardness
  • Scale and spots
  • Chlorine taste and smell

How it works

In plain terms.

  1. Carbon tank

One tank holds 1.5 cu ft of coconut shell carbon for chlorine taste and smell, and rinses itself on a schedule. Catalytic carbon is available for chloramine and sulfur odor.

  2. Softening tank

The second tank captures hardness with a large bed of 10% crosslinked resin over polishing gravel.

  3. Two valves

Each tank has its own control so neither one limits the other. Both keep their settings through outages of up to 72 hours.

What it won't do

  • It's more system than most homes need. For a typical 3 to 4 bedroom house, the standard does the job.
  • It's built for city water, not iron or sulfur.

Maintenance

  • Add salt when the brine tank gets low.
  • We check both tanks at your yearly re-test.
Bluejay XL Softener + Filtration system with brine tank

XL Softener + Filtration

The standard build with more capacity.

Same softener-and-carbon design as the standard, with a wider tank and a third more resin. It regenerates less often and keeps up with more people and harder water.

Best for: Larger households or very hard water.

Bluejay Tankless RO system
Top pick for drinking water

Tankless RO

800 gallons a day, 7 stages, and no storage tank under your sink.

Compact tankless reverse osmosis with seven stages of filtration and built-in alkaline remineralization. It works to remove heavy metals, chlorine and dissolved solids, and it adds beneficial minerals back in. The coconut-carbon filter gives you a smoother, fresher taste. Its 2:1 drain ratio wastes far less water than a standard RO, and with no storage tank it frees up space under your sink.

Best for: Anyone who wants cleaner water for drinking and cooking

Bluejay whole-home UV sterilizer chamber with controller

Whole-Home UV

Ultraviolet treatment for bacteria, no chemicals.

An ultraviolet lamp treats water as it enters the house, so bacteria can not reproduce. Nothing is added to the water. UV needs clear, low-iron water ahead of it, so it is usually paired with the well system.

Best for: Private wells, or after a boil-water notice.

Questions

About the Dual Tank, City Water

Why not just put in a bigger single tank?

Past a certain size, one tank doing both jobs wears the carbon out faster. Two tanks let each one run on its own schedule.
